Our company offers free community-based hearing screening throughout Northeast Ohio, under direct supervision of audiologist, Beverly A. Goldstein, Ph.D. Our non-medical hearing screenings can serve to reduce the anxiety in individuals who already suffer a hearing loss or are having trouble with their present hearing aids. Our screenings are held in familiar surroundings as a convenience to elderly persons. This confortable atmosphere puts the senior citizen and the audiologist on a more friendly but an informative basis. Once we accomplish making the elderly person comfortable, his or her questions about their hearing problems are then answered. This is a sure way for the individual to receive truthful information about their hearing loss and appropriate treatment for that loss. Why should seniors participate in health screenings? Seniors need "low or no-cost" health screenings, readily accessible, to help them identify unmet health-care needs. Following every screening, they need to be told the entire truth about the results, so they can discuss any required follow-up with family or friends. Why are hearing screenings particularily important? Initially, seniors are often unaware of their hearing loss. Hearing tends to shift gradually, if the loss is due to aging, and a loss of hearing may progress undetected. Persons living alone are slow to detect hearing loss. Once aware of hearing loss, many seniors are sensitive about admitting to a loss, and may have developed anxiety about their communication problems. This can then be compounded by pressure from family and friends to take action through a physician or a clinic. This clear-cut step, in some circumstances, can seem overwhelming to a person who is not yet convinced that a hearing loss exists. Why not host a free Dr. Goldstein's WRA hearing screeening at your site? Beginning the process with an available non-medial hearing screening can serve to reduce anxiety. Hearing screenings held in familiar locations, such as nutrition sites, senior centers and religious facilities, provide a cushioning atmosphere where seniors suspecting hearing loss can obtain no-risk, truthful information about the condition of their ear canals and about their hearing sensitivity levels. Offering your hearing screening through Dr. Goldstein’s Western Reserve Audiology ensures that you are providing a community-based audiologic service routinely available throughout Northeast Ohio, under the direct supervision of Audiologist Dr. Beverly A. Goldstein. A written summary of findings is provided to each site at the conclusion of the screening. |
