WRA's RECOMMENDED POSITIVE WELLNESS PHILOSOPHY FOR FACILITIES

Philosophical postition of a facility conveyed at facility tours and during the admission process might go as follows:

XYZ Facility has the philosophy of a positive wellness attitude and quality of life care for every resident.

Residents enter XYZ Facility to achieve IMPROVEMENTS in:

  • Overall general health
  • Mental health
  • Happiness
  • Ability to have fun

Quality of life is closely tied to successful mobility, and improved vision and hearing.

Families are encouraged to explore proper ambulatory devices, and up-to-date glasses and hearing aids.

To that end, XYZ Facility has arranged for on-site home-care professionals to come to XYZ Facility to assist residents and families with screenings, assessments and prosthetic devices to ensure achieving improved daily living functions.

Residents entering with memory loss also benefit from quality of life improvements, and should be especially screened for hearing loss. (Hearing poorer than 45 decibels makes it especially difficult for an individual with memory impairment to hear conversation at a sufficiently loud enough level to benefit from general spoken information.)

XYZ Facility has quality care givers on staff to assist residents with their devices. Eyeglasses are cleaned daily and hearing aids and batteries also receive proper attention. Noted malfunctions of ambulatory devices are reported to the appropriate administrator.
